Ryan Manson

(Vice Chairman) General Manager of Union Square

Ryan was appointed Operations Manager of Union Square in March 2009 with responsibilities for all aspects of centre operations in preparation for launch (in October 2009) and beyond. Ryan took over as Union Square General Manager on 1st July 2010 as the centre geared up to celebrate its first year of trading.

As General Manager Ryan has responsibility for the management of the centre and driving the team and asset onto yet greater achievements. As well as delivering customer service and safety, he is also focused on reducing Union Square’s carbon footprint, by setting out strategies and achieving targets for waste reduction, recycling, energy efficiency, water usage, and the use of sustainable materials through increased community involvement.

Ryan began his career with BAA, spending ten years at Aberdeen and London Gatwick airports before moving to Inverness Airport for a further nine years. He gained valuable experience of shopping centre management when he worked for the Westfield Shopping Centre Group in Auckland, New Zealand.

Born in Inverness and brought up in the North East town of Elgin, Ryan has spent time living in Dundee, Aberdeen, West Sussex, Nairnshire and New Zealand.

Ryan enjoys spending time outdoors hillwalking, cycling or sailing and spending time with his family.
